Budlong Pool:
Located in the Eden Park section of Cranston, the Budlong Pool is one of the largest outdoor pools in the country, measuring 260 feet by 80 feet and holding over 1 million gallons of water. Open every summer, the pool is a popular spot for people of all ages to cool of during the hot summer months. It is open from late June to mid-August and season passes can be purchased on site. Swim lessons are also available early in the morning. For specific information on pool opening, rates, and swim lessons please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 780-6169. During the months of July and August when the pool is open, you can call the pool directly at 383-3105.


"Music In Our Town" Free Concert Series:
This free concert series presents a diverse line-up of bands playing an even more diverse selection of music, from popular hits of the last 5 decades, to jazz and big band music at various sites around the City during the summer. Concerts take place on Thursdays begining in late June on the steps of the William Hall Library.


Pitch, Hit and Run:
Boys and Girls between the ages of 7 - 14 compete in a citywide competition that includes base running, hitting, and throwing in May. Local winners go to a statewide competition at McCoy Stadium with the possibility of participation in the National Competition at the Major League All-Star baseball game. Participation is free. Participants must provide copy of birth certificate at time of registration.


Cranston Veteran's Memorial Ice Rink:
This popular facility, located at 900 Phenix Ave. was renovated in 1999. In 2007, Cranston built the Inflatable Dome Rink adjacent the exisiting rink. Both facilities are under the management of Northeast Facility Management Group. New York City Bus Trip
Offered in partnership with Somerset Recreation, travel to New York City in the winter. This self guided tour through the city that never sleeps allows you to see the sights around the holiday and get in some holiday shopping. Bus departs and returns to the Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Rink, with a stop at Somerset Town Hall.
